Historic ingredient ideal for modern life
Japanese tea has a thousand-year history, and has been drunk by emperors in elaborate tea ceremonies. Today, ceremonial grade matcha tea has a unique flavour and is only available in Europe through select importers. Each pouch of SuperSelf matcha contains 50g (approx 50 servings) of 100% pure ceremonial grade, Soil Association certified matcha tea.
A healthy alternative to coffee
Low in caffeine and high in antioxidants, matcha has many benefits. The powder fully dissolves in hot (not boiling) water, making it the perfect quick pick-me-up. Matcha contains up to 137 times more EGCG (catechin) than other green teas and is also rich in L-theanine. The powder can also be used to add a boost of flavour and colour to hot and cold drinks, as well as baking, confectionery and desserts.
A natural wonder
Growing and grading matcha in the traditional way is a highly controlled blend of art and science. At SuperSelf, we are proud to offer the highest quality organic matcha. Made exclusively from the leaves of the plant, SuperSelf matcha is grown in an excellent terroir without pesticides. It is shade-grown for the last 20-30 days, a traditional technique that boosts the natural amino acid content.
