Japanese tea has a thousand-year history, and has been drunk by emperors in elaborate tea ceremonies. Today, ceremonial grade matcha tea has a unique flavour and is only available in Europe through select importers. Each pouch of SuperSelf matcha contains 120g (approx 40 servings) of 100% pure ceremonial grade, Soil Association certified matcha tea.
A healthy alternative to coffee
Low in caffeine and high in antioxidants, matcha has many benefits. The powder fully dissolves in hot (not boiling) water, making it the perfect quick pick-me-up. Matcha contains up to 137 times more EGCG (catechin) than other green teas and is also rich in L-theanine. The powder can also be used to add a boost of flavour and colour to hot and cold drinks, as well as baking, confectionery and desserts.

How to use
Mix 1 level teaspoon (1g) of matcha powder and 1 tablespoon (15ml) of hot water into a paste. Add 150ml of hot water or milk of your choice and stir.
Coconut matcha latte recipe
Ingredients: 1 teaspoon matcha, 60 ml hot, not boiling, water (80 degrees C); 180 ml coconut milk; a dash of vanilla extract; 1/2 teaspoon agave syrup, honey or sweetener of choice, if desired. Method: sift your matcha by pushing it through a small sieve with a spoon; add the matcha, syrup, vanilla to a mug, and pour in hot water over it; whisk until the matcha powder is fully dissolved and the paste is frothy; warm the milk and froth it in a blender or steam on the espresso machine; slowly pour frothy, warmed coconut milk over the mixture and whisk until well combined.
